Uncle

Angaangaq is an Inuit-Kalaallit Elder, whose Fanily belongs to the traditional healers of the far north from Kalaalit Nunaat in Greenland.

Angaangaq, the “Man Who Looks Like His Uncle” Lyberth, has gained a wealth of traditional knowledge and cultural experience throughout his lifetime. Affectionately called „Uncle“, he is a certified Mediator, a story teller, and has vast knowledge in the areas of spiritual & cultural teachings and practices and in conflict resolution.

Angaangaq specialises in Inuit specific trauma recovery for Inuit adult survivors of child sexual abuse. He provides healing services in federal prisons and participates in national and international meetings on native spirituality, healing and culture.

He is known for his “Teaching of the North”. He incorporates traditional teachings and healings of the North into his healings. He runs sweat lodges based on those teachings.

A part of this traditional wisdom concerns the Rites of Passage through which young people enter the adult world, accompanied by appropriate instruction and also with the ceremonies that integrate them into their community.

In August, the Spiritual Leaders of the World gathered at The United Nation in Geneva. Anaangaq Lyberth was one of the North American Native Spiritual Leaders and participated by chanting some of his songs from the UN Podium.
